This Term, alongside supporting business members, High Tide delivered 10 career taster days across the Tees Valley, and the energy in every single one of them was electric.
Business Members, Programmes
A total of 120 young people, aged 11 to 19, stepped out of the classroom and into the world of work, gaining firsthand insight into industries shaping the future of our region.
Each taster day was designed not just to show students what a job looks like, but to help them feel what it’s like to think and work as a professional in that field. From problem-solving challenges to workplace tours to honest conversations with employees about their career journeys, these experiences are designed to shift something in a young person, expanding what they believe is possible for themselves.
For many of our students, these days represent their first real contact with the professional world. For some, it plants the seed of an ambition they’ll carry for years. For others, it builds the confidence to ask questions, to put their hand up, to believe that this world has a place for them.
We are hugely grateful to the employers across Tees Valley who opened their doors, gave their time and invested in the next generation. If your organisation would like to be part of our next round of taster days, we’d love to hear from you.
