Our programmes give Tees Valley students the chance to engage directly with employers, increase understanding of career opportunities, improve skills and raise aspirations. Alongside workplace-based activities, we offer a range of virtual work experience (VWEX) programmes. These inspiring, live and interactive placements directly connect young people with employers from a diverse range of industries and sectors; connecting the curriculum with careers, opening the door to career opportunities and providing a glimpse into a diverse range of businesses across the Tees Valley.
Our programmes also have a key focus on life skills, changing attitudes, developing networks and building ambitions. They are designed to align with the local LEP sector skills strategy and deliver ‘meaningful’ career experiences required by the national careers framework the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Our Experience Works programme is a unique week long work experience programme for Year 10 students. The programme offers the chance to see, visit and experience a number of businesses across a range of sectors including law, finance, creative, digital, engineering, automotive and maritime.
Our Cadetships programmes are one week, after-school programmes for Key Stage 3 students designed to introduce students to career opportunities within a number of sectors including Shipping, Automotive and Creative Media. Each cadetship follows the supply chain journey of an everyday object to see first hand the job roles and career opportunities available.
The Port to Port programme is a unique and life changing learning and personal development opportunity for students to visit companies in and around Teesport before embarking on an overseas trip to a European port.
Teesport Industry Experience is a unique programme which runs throughout the year, aimed at both our education and business members, providing a unique tour of Teesport and River Trip up the Tees.
Our port visits and river trips give students from our member schools the opportunity to take a trip along the Tees to understand and experience the vast number of career opportunities available within a huge variety of businesses in and around Teesport.
Our in-school activities are designed to enable business members into schools to work with younger people in order to offer real-life advice and guidance in a number of different businesses across a range of sectors including law, finance, creative, digital, engineering, automotive and maritime.
